3.4 Aesthetics

I’ve been writing about the arts since about 1997. Steve Clarian and Todd Drullinger and i were undergrads in the music composition or art programs in college. We were also all Ayn Rand fanatics and began writing tirades online, at a Geocities site we called Apollo’s Soapbox. Eventually Apollo’s Soapbox was no more, because Steve and i decided to write a book about Randian aesthetics and thought we should take our writings offline. We have a 300+ page first draft somewhere. The writing style—at least my writing style, is impossibly stilted and terribly quasi-randian. But some of the ideas have value, and we two have kept up an email correspondence ever since.
